Update 5/27/2020: Fig + Farro has closed

Fig + Farro is a fully plant based restaurant offering seasonal dishes for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. While it's a little hit or miss for me, overall I've enjoyed several dishes there with attentive service provided.

Artichoke Dip

I've had several excellent appetizers, including artichoke dip, which is packed with large pieces of artichoke. The buffalo cauliflower is another favorite. All of the appetizers I've tried are good for at least two people, if not three to four.

Jambalaya

Jambalaya

Fig + Farro has produced a number of good soup and stew dishes for winter, like the Jambalaya pictured above. I've also had a kimchi soup that warmed me right up and was filled with hardy veggies. Several dishes are made without gluten either as is or upon request.

Mushroom Flatbread

Going back to the hit or miss part, there have been a few dishes that have been good but seemed to be missing one extra ingredient to put it over the top, like an extra texture or a punch of heat. They had fried avocado tacos at one point that sounded amazing but ended up being very one note. Another time, they had a mushroom stroganoff that would have benefited from a bit of chili powder or even seasoned salt to provide more depth.

Beignets

Beignets

Desserts rotate somewhat regularly, and I've had beignets, cheesecake, and ice cream, to name a few. I appreciate that they're always trying new things, and I like it when restaurants change their menu with the seasons.

I'm happy to have a plant based spot in town who's bringing us unique, globally-inspired food. Fig + Farro is perfect for any kind of special occasion, but the best part is, they make it comfortable enough to go even when it's not a special occasion.

Their cocktails and mocktails are creative and amazing. They even have boozy coffee cocktails! They will also validate up to ninety minutes of parking in the Calhoun Square Parking Garage for those who stress about finding street or metered parking.

Be sure to follow them on social media to learn about special events and holiday meals (at the time of this update 3/9/2020, events on their website have not been updated since 2019). They bring in speakers and offer prix fixe meals for several holidays. Fig + Farro adds a lot to our community, so I'm happy to support them.
